A 17th century B&B, restaurant and country pub.
The Plume of Feathers is a seventeeth century country pub, restaurant and B&B, offering fine food, local and guest beers and five ensuite guest rooms.
We are located in the heart of the Somerset countryside, close to Bristol airport, and the historic city of Bath. The building is grade two listed, and has served as a hostelry since the early 1800's. Sitting at the foot of the Mendip hills, this is a great place to stay and relax, however long or short your stay.
Accommodation Close to Bristol Airport.
Although there are a few hotels close to Bristol airport, we pride ourselves on offering a more personal welcome to travellers from around the world. We are only an 8 minute drive from the airport, and a taxi costs just £10. We have five newly refurbished guest rooms. Wireless internet access is available throughout the pub, free of charge to guests.
All our rooms have an ensuite bathroom, and have televison & tea and coffee making facilities. Home made biscuits may be available.
A fine English restaurant.
Our restaurant menu changes daily. We serve a varied menu, ranging from home cut sandwiches to an "a la carte" menu, including traditonal local cuts, homemade soups & stews, seafood dishes and light or rich deserts.
Our cellar holds a fine selection of European and international wines. We are proud to use local suppliers and local produce wherever possible. All our food is home cooked from fresh ingredients. Even the chips!
A traditional family country pub.
The Plume of Feathers is above all else a traditional English country pub. Serving the local community for over 200 years as a place to relax, enjoy company and exchange news and information.
We welcome families and accompanied children. There is a stream outside, and a shallow ford one hundred metres away. We have a beer garden at the rear of the pub and Dobbin the horse is always ready to accept a carrot or apple treat.
We have a variety of very traditional pub games including shove ha'penny, table skittles, darts and a pool table. Please think carefully before challenging the "Old Boys" to cribbage for 50p a corner. Board games and playing cards are available on request.
